How to use a BDSM Bull Whip

This is a device only to be used by experienced Dom’s. Given the length of the whip significant negative impact can be made on the subs body if not handled correctly.

Before the Dom begins to weild this whip, it’s important that the sub is positioned in an open air area, with nothing surrounding them for about a 4 metre radius. Ideally the subs arms would be above their head, preferentially tied up. It can also be useful to have the subs face covered for protection or at the very least their eyes cover so they cannot see the whip being weilded.

The Dom must now decide how the whip will impact the sub. There are two variants here. Firstly the Dom may decide simply to have the tip of the whip impact the subs body somewhere. This will be very intense. The second variant is for the whip to curl around the subs body to some degree, often only once, with the tail of the whip then impacting the body of the sub after having lost some energy.

Once decided, the Dom must stand away from the sub a length equal to between 2 meters less than the full length of the whip, to the full length of the whip.

The whip must then be curled on the ground either behind the Dom’s feet or beside them.

To ensure a full strike and that the whip will actually reach the sub, the handle of the whip must be drawn well back and above the Dom’s head. Then with strong force, the handle must be brought down in a diagonal arc motion, out to the right or left hand side of the Dom, ensuring that the tail of the whip will travel horizontally, not vertically.

The Dom must make sure that the handle of the whip has considerable follow-through across to the other side of their body. This will ensure that the tail of the whip, which will move much later than the handle, actually has the energy required to reach the sub.

To get used to this whip and the impact that it has, the Dom can have the sub positioned upright in an open air area, then whilst standing front on to the sub, rapidly move the whip side to side at full length. The intention here is that the tail of the whip will ‘bite’ the skin of the sub but will not wrap around them. This will give a great sting and will also demonstrate to the Dom how to use the whip.

Important safety tip. Always ensure that the strokes are below the neck. Any impact from above the neck can be serious.

If your sub is not well known to you, it’s important to discuss with them where their most sensitive areas are. For many, male or female, it’s the nipples. Thus, impact from such a whip can be too much on the nipples. Others, it may be their backs, which can be used differently.

Given how a bullwhip works, it’s unlikely to have too much impact on the genitals, however this is something to consider too.
